I don't have a 'red thread' series of photos, but I am working on my 'red chair' series, of which these are just a few of hundreds taken since 2006.

and below, of course, a gratuitous disney world character photo.

Gōng xǐ Fā Cái
We went to Chinatown, Phila style to see the Lion Dance Parade and do some eating and shopping!
See photo evidence above. We met 4 of the other families with whom we traveled to China. Our Hunan girls were not all that happy about the fireworks and the very cold weather, but they had a great time entertaining each other at the restaurant.
gōng xǐ fā cái = Congratulations and Prosperity
Who knew there was a Lion Dance Championship (National Freestyle Lion Dance Competition)?!

Snowmageddon, part deux
Today, we did a small, lopsided snowman, and Mary 'planted flowers' (aka her small beach shovels and tools) in the snow banks. Photos from Thursday's snowy day to be uploaded later.
Snow is too high to sled on. The top 12 inches or so are powder and then the base is solid.

Princess du jour
Scene: Disney store
Post Christmas sale
Event: I purchased the one and only remaining Mulan costume, for a fraction of the retail price ($54.00). Sale price was $12.00
And, it just happened to be the correct size.
Our current princesses in residence are:
Mary
Mulan
Belle
Cindy (bff)
Ariel
Narcolepsia (aka S.B.)
Snow White
Jasmine (TSA always does a body scan on Aladdin before he gets on a flight, even magic carpets could be used as weapons of destruction. ) Not in my backyard, not on my airplane. Say yes to profiling!!!
(end of public service announcement for the day)...
